Repair Procedure for The Cyrcle Phone

dTOOR EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR THE RIGHT TO REPAIR MOVEMENT

Bellevue, WA, USA (July 29, 2021) – The White House released an executive order last week urging the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to secure the consumers’ rights to fix their own gadgets, also known as “The Right to Repair” movement. The FTC then voted unanimously to enforce laws around the movement. Simply put, the FTC will develop new rules to ensure that companies do not restrict consumers from exercising their Right to Repair. This will provide the consumers access to the documentation, parts, software, and tools needed to fix their devices. The FTC also encourages everyone to be on the lookout and report any signs of warranty abuse. Manufacturers are prohibited from telling consumers that their warranty is voided once the product has been altered by someone else.

Here at dTOOR, we are great enthusiasts of “The Right to Repair” movement. We have provided a circular phone that is different from all the rectangular phones available in the market today. We also wanted to provide our consumers with the freedom and flexibility to repair their own devices. Most of our files are open source and available on our Github, and we made this version of The Cyrcle Phone as easy to repair by yourself as possible.

The Cyrcle Phone was conceived with the idea that the rectangle was not the end-all-be-all answer for everyone. There are people who desire greater diversity and who are eager to explore outside the mainstream. Commensurately, consumers deserve to have more options than paying hundreds (and sometimes, thousands) of dollars to get their devices fixed elsewhere. Favorably, with FTC’s new development, we now get to practice our Right to Repair.
